Cigna's Supplemental Health Solutions (SHS) business currently provides Accidental Injury (AI), Critical Illness (CI), and Hospital Care (HC) insurance and is a rapidly growing product suite within Cigna. Supplemental Health has one of the highest growth projections across U.S. Commercial. The Operations Senior Advisor will be responsible for the building, coordinating, and execution of projects as it relates to the Supplemental Health operations/product strategy. Primary responsibility will be to work with key matrix partners on the delivery of critical platform enhancements to support the SHS business. The Operations Senior Advisor is the liaison between the Technology and Delivery teams, Service Operations, and other operations teams supporting SHS to ensure business continuity. The actions of this role have significant impact to all of the operations teams supporting our organization.

Job Duties

  • Effectively maximize key relationships to create synergies, alliances and opportunities by collaborating on business requirements and plans projects based on business and leadership feedback.
  • Accountable for coordinating and supporting the Cigna Supplemental Health product/operations roadmap and related activities to drive growth of our portfolio.
  • Balances strategic and tactical business needs based on resource capacity and funding availability
  • Effectively document and communicate business requirements to support prioritization reviews and IT grooming sessions
  • Develop tracking and reporting processes to monitor the execution of key strategic priorities that support client and customer needs
  • Ensures projects are completed within the committed timeframe, raises risks proactively and transparent, ensuring impacts are fully understood, communicated and disruption to business performance is managed and minimal. As needed, escalates issues to appropriate audiences including key business leaders and team members.

​Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years business and industry experience preferably within the Supplemental Health organization
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
  • Candidate will possess strong change management expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent efforts
  • Ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines and to mitigate potential risks to deliverables
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to conceptualize and think creatively
  • Ability to effectively lead initiatives in a matrix environment through influence and teamwork
  • Ability to adapt style and approach to different projects and programs
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish credibility across organizational levels
