See Yourself as a Principal Software Engineer

The Principal Software Engineer works under the direction of VP of Software Engineering & IT Operations and is responsible for leading software/technical projects. The Principal Software Engineer, outside of software engineering duties, is expected to manage software projects and work with or supervise other developer resources to complete the expected project requirements as needed.

  • Design and implement software components, units, and modules according to detailed business and technical specifications. Work with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and build thoughtful software solutions.
  • Manage technical projects, including coordinating with the internal development team and stakeholders.
  • Along with creating software solutions with expected coding standards, the principal software engineer is expected to serve as a technical leader of the team and be able to share best practices and experiences and conduct code reviews as needed.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of AWS services including Lambda, Kinesis, Code Deploy, Containers, S3, SQS, Cloud formation, etc.
  • Analyze and solve difficult problems across the entire stack. Bring passion to stay on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and participating in both internal and external technology communities.

Your Knowledge:

  • Experience with a modern object-oriented language such as C# (required) and Java
  • Experience with SQL (required), Snowflake (preferred), and Elastic Search (preferred)
  • Develop applications using AWS services
  • Develop client-side scripts using , AngularJS, jQuery, and JavaScript are pluses
  • Flexibility to quickly adjust to the changing needs and priorities of a small, rapidly growing business
  • Active, thoughtful participation in a development team, to help the team reach its objectives

Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience in Microsoft .NET Stack
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using any SQL databases
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing applications for deployment in Amazon Web Services
  • Client-side framework like is highly desired
  • Agile Development experience along with CI/CD using TeamCity and Jenkins


Other Position Parameters:

  • Familiarity with mortgage, capital, and consumer market industries is desired
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate with co-workers and managers, verbally and in writing

  • Technical: 5 - 8 years
  • Supervisory: None


Your Education and Credentials:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree, Concentration in Computer Science or related field
