Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-MJ1

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision (Supervision of discipline and lead superintendents with 100+ craft)

  • Proactively engages with their team's development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback
  • Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.

Planning / Productivity

  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

  • Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality

  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.

Technical

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Prior experience managing Union Craft

· Experience promoting and cultivating a safe work ethic and positive work environment within the craft.

· Computer literate in word processing functions, spread sheets, data base applications ...

· Experience working with, supervising, and administering direct hire work force and subcontractors,

· 5+ years' experience in Large Industrial plant construction projects or related experience

· Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and managing work forces to work packages, schedules, and budgets.

· Demonstrated knowledge of reading understanding and following work process, procedures design guides and specifications.

· Demonstrated leadership in team-based environment working with Field Engineers, craft professionals, while interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents and other technical documents

· Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.

· Demonstrated knowledge of working within and EPC integrated team

· Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero accident safety program and familiar with current industry safety standards

· Experience in ES&H compliance and familiar with Bechtel's processes and procedures.

· Knowledge of construction quality assurance

· Knowledge is normally acquired through:

o A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or

o Specialized courses in construction technology and management, and/or

  • o Prior practical work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.
