Duties

Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, team leader or more experienced professional, acting as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility.

Applies experience and detailed knowledge of management and program analysis to support assignments including the dissemination of international training information to stakeholders, the validation of training information, and the creation of training specific documentation, correspondence and outreach information. Collects and records training information to accomplish assignments.

Coordinates and updates the FAA International Training Webpage, the FAA International Training Brochure, and the FAA International Training Catalogue. Works with peers within the Office of International Affairs for most assignments; some international assignments may require coordination across the agency and with international organizations.

Supports the training requirements from international stakeholders and collaborates to resolve administrative training issues with more experienced personnel. This includes collecting information from customers (employees, other API professionals, managers, foreign entities) and with guidance from management, discusses customer concerns and formulates responses. Assists with the FAA Annual Call for International Training and assisting with the validation of training needs.

Coordinates with manager or team lead to plan and accomplish projects and activities. Assists in deploying continuous improvement to work processes to improve organizational performance, efficiency, and effectiveness. Monitors the APT Outreach and Training mailbox and creates the APT Intake Form. Assesses mailbox inquiries and prioritize responses. Solicits input from management for technical content to formulate responses and refers unresolved issues to management or more experienced personnel for guidance.

Tracks external inquiries and maintains metrics for all work associated with the mailbox and Intake Process, collaborating across the agency as needed. Develops analysis and reports of various training metrics at the direction of management or team lead. Assists team lead and desk officers across API to ensure successful completion of initiatives within assigned specialty.

Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit, major subdivision, or LOB/SO with a manager and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and/or explain the statuses of assignments. Has frequent contacts with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, and discussing the customers' situations. Work activities support API, other LOBs, the DOT, international regulatory organizations, and the flying public.

Refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional when guidelines are not available or applicable.

Work is typically reviewed frequently during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.

    Qualifications

    To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F, FG/GS-5/6/7/8/9 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:

    Experience organizing, planning, multi-tasking, and completing multiple assignments with conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    AND;

    Experience applying training requirements and applicable orders and guidelines in the coordination of training programs.

    Education
