The Service Technician is responsible for developing the knowledge and skills to support the maintenance, installation and repair of Beckman Coulter products at customer sites. This entry-level position works under close supervision and mentoring by a manager, regional specialist, and senior engineers within the territory. Tasks are performed independently as proficiencies are developed. This position is remote based in Chicago, IL or Hammond, IN

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop knowledge of applicable products, customer support, and technical skills vital to perform high-quality preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments.
  • Mentors or assists with preventative maintenance and installation, some repairs, and work independently as ability improves.
  • Completes administration duties (logging service activities, expense reporting, inventory, etc.)

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School Diploma Required, Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in mechanical, electrical, biological science, engineering Preferred or Military equivalent
  • Early/Emerging career - No experience required
  • Hold and maintain a valid Driver's License; meet Vendor Credentialing requirements; ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs. along with ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures.
  • Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols.
  • Domestic/International travel by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel may be required and exposure to seasonal weather based on geographic region. Territory Includes: Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $45,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
