About the opportunity

SWCA is currently seeking a Strategic Growth Director - Southeast Mining and Water to join our nationwide Water Resources and Mining Teams. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in supporting environmental and hydrogeologic opportunities within the mining, industrial, municipal, and private landowner market sectors. The mining sector focuses on precious, base, industrial, and rare earth markets.

The ideal candidate will have 15 years of experience working with multidisciplinary teams of biologists, engineers, and geologists to support existing client relationships and project work, as well as developing new opportunities within SWCA's client base across the Southeast and nationwide. Experience in working with state and federal regulatory agencies on behalf of clients is essential.

You will collaborate with SWCA project managers and business development leaders to cultivate new client relationships and business opportunities across multiple market sectors. Additionally, the candidate will provide mentorship to existing SWCA staff and assist in identifying new strategic hires.

What you will accomplish

The Director will be responsible for:
Expanding SWCA's presence and life-cycle environmental services, including studies, permitting, NEPA compliance, operational support, and closure activities.Supporting clients' environmental opportunities by providing expertise and guidance.Offering technical and planning expertise to SWCA staff across the U.S.
Key Focus Areas include:
Developing high-growth, high-value mining opportunities and sales within the South Region and contributing to market development.Supporting SWCA's water resources business growth through recruitment and helping to develop the next generation of leaders.Managing large, strategic projects, including permitting, NEPA compliance, and closure/reclamation support, while bringing client perspectives to current services.Providing technical oversight for key aspects of NEPA documentation and processes, including pre-NOI activities, project planning, public scoping, and Records of Decision.Fostering and expanding client relationships within the mining and water industries, aligned with our growth strategies.Advancing SWCA's reputation in supporting some of the world's most challenging and complex mining and water projects.Providing business value by understanding water resource client needs and elevating SWCA's profile with key clients and agencies.Staying informed on industry developments to drive innovation and differentiate SWCA in the market.
Experience and qualifications for success

Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.Minimum of 15 years of project management experience in water resources and hydrogeologic consulting services.Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office.Working understanding of agency internal processes and familiarity with federal land management and regulatory agencies, such as BLM, USFS, NPS, BOR, DOE, DOT, FERC, NRCS, and USFWS.Proven experience managing complex, multi-agency projects.Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and overseeing large-scale environmental projects.Strong business development acumen with a track record in identifying and securing new clients and opportunities within the mining and water resources sectors.Deep understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes at both state and federal levels.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and community leaders.

Additional Information
Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required; may include weekend and nighttime work.

An employee in this Tampa, FL based position can expect a salary of $137,280.00 to $193,440.00/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
