    The Corporate Partnership Sales Manager will focus its efforts on growing the sponsorship and exhibits sales for American Mathematical Society Events, specifically the Joint Mathematics Meetings and the upcoming International Congress of Mathematics Meeting in 2026. The role will report to the Director of Membership, collaborating with the communications and marketing and meetings and conferences teams to grow and sustain AMS's corporate partnerships.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  10. Work with all departments to become knowledgeable in all American Mathematical Society programs, initiatives, and services that have an advertising, exhibits or sponsorship component to target the value proposition of our offerings effectively and persuasively to the right prospective buyer profile.
  11. Build robust sponsorship, exhibitor, and advertising models to support AMS events, specifically the Joint Mathematics Meetings and the upcoming International Congress of Mathematics Meeting in 2026.
  12. Negotiate and close sponsorship sales and contracts and serve as the relationship owner through the sponsorship delivery process.
  13. Lead in the creation and deployment of exhibit and sponsorship collateral including the Exhibitor Prospectus, Sponsorship Brochure, and Exhibit Buyers Guide, as necessary and developed, as well as the agreements and contracts associated with participation.
  14. Assist in the creation and deployment of the Exhibit Space Floorplan and Service Kit, as necessary and developed.
  15. Serve as first point of contact for inbound inquiries related to exhibits, advertising, and sponsorship; including management of the exhibitor servicers and sponsorship email inboxes.
  16. Create and maintain impeccable customer relationships, including identifying customer needs and responding creatively, listening to information, asking questions, and applying knowledge to determine solutions.
  17. Manage prospects and customers in a customer relationship database tool, making thorough notes about relationship progress with each communication.
  18. Support AMS customer service efforts by developing welcome letters, deadline reminders, forms collection, invoicing, and payment collection, etc., ensuring excellent customer service, quality control, and consistency of experience.
  19. Collaborate with appropriate Meetings and Conference and Customer Service staff on exhibitor/sponsorship/advertiser onboarding to collect necessary information.
  20. Collaborate with appropriate Meetings and Conference staff on exhibit show rules, floor plan development, exhibit operations, vendor relationships, service kit development, registration, and testing of the exhibit sales platform.
  21. Collaborate with appropriate Meetings and Conference and other relevant staff to increasing attendee traffic and participation with exhibitors as well as the development and execution of vendor-driven presentations and product showcases.
  22. Collaborate with appropriate Meetings and Conference staff and other relevant staff members to ensure exhibitor/sponsorship/advertiser benefits are activated during onsite meeting.
  23. Participate in post-show sponsor and exhibitor meetings and calls for feedback and resolution of issues, builds on results and maintains relationships by sending thank you notes reiterating benefits received and leads provided and reminding of overall show value.
  24. Prepare post-event and year-end reports detailing results, including areas of achievement and those in need of improvement, relative to established exhibit, advertising, and sponsorship revenue goals. Communicate overall results of exhibitor, advertiser, and sponsor investments as part of ongoing stewardship plan.
  25. Following conference, draft first right of refusal sponsorships for the following year and meets with sponsors, exhibitors, and prospects to sell opportunities for the next annual conference.
  26. Contact existing partners in a timely manner to process renewals and/or upgrade sponsorship levels.
  27. Maintain working knowledge of current non-profit advertising, sponsorship, membership, and exhibit sales trends. Work with appropriate staff to evaluate current offerings, ensuring continual improvement and quality customer service.
  28. Provide staff support to Committee on Meetings and Conferences, Exhibitors Annual Meeting, and other relevant meetings.
  29. Represent AMS at the Joint Mathematics Meetings and other relevant events. Assist at events to deliver customer service, nurture relationships, and develop new relationships.
  30. Support marketing and communication teams, as needed.
  31. Other duties as assigned.INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
  32. Work with internal departments on messaging, marketing, and sales strategies.
  33. Strategize, in coordination with internal stakeholders, to build a sustainable sponsorship pipeline to support AMS' programs and projects with external organizations.
  34. Coordinate workflow with various AMS departments, including Communications and Marketing, Membership, Meetings, Development, Fiscal, and Creative Services.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  36. Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of sales and/or marketing experience.
  37. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations.
  38. Demonstrated sales skills.
  39. Demonstrated relationship-building skills.
  40. Familiarity with the mathematical community is a plus.
  41. A sense of urgency to move quickly and keep the pipeline flowing.
  42. A high level of confidence speaking with executives and negotiating creative win-win sponsorship deals.
  43. Proven ability to negotiate and close mutually beneficial sponsorship deals.
  44. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization skills.
  45. An equal level of comfort in team and independent work environments.
