Position Overview:

The Multifamily Finance Controller group is looking for a Financial Controller Professional who will be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate and reliable financial information. This role involves the preparation and posting of general ledger journals, managing, and controlling Commitment Accounting and LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit) accounting. It also includes preparation of profit & loss, balance sheet accounts and other financial reports. Full use and application of standard accounting principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems. Works under normal supervision. Follows established directions. Work is reviewed for accuracy of technical analysis and overall adequacy.

Our Impact:

The Multifamily Finance Controller team is responsible for timely and accurate accounting, analytics, and 10Q/10K financial reporting related to Multifamily's mortgage and LIHTC equity investment.

Your Impact:

  • Prepare and stage journal entries for Multifamily commitment and LIHTC investment activities
  • Perform or review daily and monthly validations / reconciliations between the subledger, general ledger, and source systems
  • Prepare account reconciliations, account certifications, and investigate variances within deadlines
  • Research and resolve data or other issues as they arise in daily or monthly tasks
  • Ensure successful execution of all key and non-key controls with proper documentation to facilitate testing. Maintain up-to-date procedures and SOX documentation
  • Supporting and coordinating requests from internal and external audit
  • Prepare quarterly footnotes or disclosures to support public financial reporting
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis requests and special projects
  • Assist in analyzing the impacts of new business initiatives and transactions on processes and reporting.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal business partners, and research and resolve issues as applicable

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • At least 2 years of related accounting and reporting experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP financial accounting and reporting concepts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
