THE POSITION

As an experienced DevOps/SRE Engineer, you will play a critical role in evolving the infrastructure, operations & reliability of our Core Product Experiences, taking us to new heights of efficiency, reliability, scalability and automation. Our CPE organization handles logins, bets, and customer accounts. These make up the core customer experience at FanDuel, it's key work.

We're looking for passionate & experienced technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to both learn from and educate others. In the role of DevOps Engineer you will work amongst multidisciplinary teams, tackling complex problems to create world class infrastructure as we continuously build out our exciting and innovative developer experience.

THE GAME PLAN

  • Work on a platform engineering team which supports the development of performant and reliable applications across FanDuel's Core Products and Experiences domain.
  • Contribute to conversations to remove blockers and foster collaboration across teams
  • Collaborate with various cross-functional software engineering teams to enhance and unify our overarching engineering culture.
  • Translate overarching strategic goals into actionable and detailed plans that can be readily implemented by engineers.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency across the organization.
  • Champion standards and baselines for uplifting engineering across FanDuel.
  • Develop and implement engineering tools seamlessly integrated into the Development Lifecycle.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Deep familiarity with hosting technologies Kubernetes, EC2, ECS, Lambda.
  • Proficient experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Build Kite, etc.
  • Experience in software development (e.g. Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Strong experience with delivering programs and projects via tools like Jira.
  • Transform strategic objectives into actionable programs of work, leading to the execution of effective and successful outcomes.
  • Proficient in developing applications related to Platform engineering, Infrastructure engineering, DevOps, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
