Heres What Youll Do

As an Associate Systems Engineer in Lab Computing, you will:

Collaborate with Laboratory Scientists to understand and address their day-to-day lab computing needs; triage incident requests, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide timely support to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.Lifecycle Management of Lab PC Controllers: responsible for onboarding, maintaining, and retiring Lab PC Controllers according to the Lab Computing Instrument Lifecycle. This includes provisioning new controllers, ensuring software and security updates, and decommissioning outdated equipment.Vendor and IT Integration: partner with instrument vendors, Digital IT teams, and laboratory scientists to integrate instrumentation into the Moderna Network Environment; ensure seamless connectivity, data transfer, and compliance with network security protocols.Translation of Digital Terminology: bridge the gap between complex digital terminology and scientific terminology, facilitating communication and alignment between IT systems and scientific outcomes. This ensures that digital solutions meet the specific needs and objectives of laboratory research.Technical Issue Resolution with Vendors: collaborate with instrument vendors to resolve technical issues and system challenges encountered during daily operation; serve as intermediaries, facilitating communication and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and disruptions.Configuration Documentation: maintain comprehensive configuration documentation for complex instruments, detailing hardware and software configurations, network settings, and integration protocols. This documentation ensures consistency, transparency, and efficiency in instrument management and troubleshooting processes. By fulfilling these responsibilities, Associate Lab Computing Engineers play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations, optimizing instrument performance, and facilitating the integration of digital solutions into the scientific research environment at Moderna R&D Headquarters. Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's or Masters degree in science (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field) or Computer Science & IT, with at least 2 years of experience. Curiosity and strong knowledge of the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries is preferred Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) Direct experience as a research scientist in the biotech sector is highly desirable.
