Duties

Provide engineering services and management solutions for utility scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) high voltage (HV) substation projects. Support the Project Manager in execution of project scope, schedule, and budget. Support the Project Manager in proposal development. Provide mentorship and guidance to peers and entry-level engineers with moderately complex projects. Review lower-level engineering work or assignments. Oversee development of plan layouts and section cut drawings for substations, site development grading and stormwater plans, structural and foundation plans and details, electrical one-lines, three-lines, connection diagrams, panel elevations, control schematics and wiring diagrams. Oversee development of auxiliary power equipment sizing calculations and electrical system studies. Oversee development of protective relay setting calculations and setting files. Oversee development of complex engineering calculations/studies including conductor ampacity/derating, arc flash hazard analysis, lightning protection studies, grounding studies, battery charger sizing, UPS sizing, CT saturation calculations, and voltage drop following standard methods and principles. Develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Review shop drawings, vendor quotes and perform bid evaluations. Plan and conduct quality checks on all project deliverables. Manage and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Lead production teams, serving as the responsible charge and engineer of record. Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers. Supervise Project Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Civil/Structural Engineers, and Technicians. No hire/fire authority. Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related, and 9 years of related experience, or, in the alternate, Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related, and 11 years of related experience. P.E. license is required. Must have experience with utility engineering and construction standards and processes. Must have experience with utility procurement and contract administration practices. Must have experience working as an electrical engineer within the standards established in the NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI codes and standards. Related experience must include managing project budgets, schedules, and technical outputs of a multi-discipline engineering team on projects of medium to high complexity. Must have experience working on engineering, procurement, and construction projects. Must have experience with business development and working on proposals for new client footprints. Must have experience interfacing directly with the client on technical aspects of the project, including change management related to the project scope and commercial management. Requires experience identifying key client drivers on projects and communicating to the project team, as well as developing approaches to accommodate these concerns in the work. Must have experience preparing a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple projects, including performing research and developing recommendations for equipment and material selection; focuses on quality and following quality requirements and guidelines. Must have experience overseeing the collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work and reviewing lower level engineering work, providing guidance and mentorship. Must be able to communicate effectively in the company interest. Domestic travel required (10%). Telecommuting is permissible within a reasonable commuting distance from the Tualatin, OR office. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
