If so, the Fraud Watch Victim Support Helpline team is looking for you The Helpline is available to help anyone, and we provide support and guidance to those who have been targeted for scams. Join us and bring your compassion and communication skills to assist victims. AARP is committed to your growth and cultivating your continued learning and development. This paid internship is anticipated to start in Summer 2024 and continue through the end of the year, with a possible extension into 2025.

Responsibilities

Return calls from the Helpline to assist people who have questions about fraud or have been victims of scams Provide good empathic listening skills and appropriate referrals for reporting and securing personal information and assets Participate in team meetings for program updates Assist with creating new program documents and training tools Assist with assigning calls to volunteers for the Helpline
Qualifications

Preferred enrollment in a Social Work or Criminology program; must be enrolled at an accredited college/university as an undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post-doctoral student and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship or must have graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program Must be a self-starter and adaptable Ability to manage multiple projects Ability to work well with diverse populations, including age, gender, race, and sexual orientation Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Zoom Exceptional verbal/written skills Applicants should be available to work in the Pacific or Mountain Time zone

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
