Job Summary:

Provide leadership and technical expertise for the ACM Precision Components Team, working with internal/external partners and customers to develop long term manufacturing strategy and processes that align with division goals.

What You Will Do:

This position requires a high degree of experience and expertise in precision component design and manufacturing. Knowledge of processes such as machining, heat treat, additive manufacturing, paint, and other precision component technologies are required. This also includes understanding of value stream and facility design, maintenance activities as well as the planning, developing, and implementation of systems for Lean manufacturing. Incumbent needs to have a thorough understanding of precision component design combined with process design understanding to provide guidance of improved manufacturability of parts and major components. Incumbent will lead a team who will implement and improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness, footprint and strategy. Role consists of managing the activities and resources for manufacturing engineers, process design and support personnel, adhering to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc., in performing assigned duties.

Provide leadership for Precision Components Team:


• Lead subject matter experts and manufacturing engineering managers to provide facility governance on manufacturing team, footprint, process, asset, maintenance and APQP strategy

Provide leadership for NSI/NPI/NCI Projects:


• Lead governance of all ACM Precision Component NSI/NPI/NCI projects from central manufacturing team.

Provide leadership for cost reduction projects:


• Lead multiple cost reduction projects across ACM factories. Provides leadership for operational efficiency improvement, targeted supplier cost reductions and internal process optimization.

Provide leadership for problem resolution:


• Provide on-site support for manufacturing challenges and deficiencies; troubleshoot technically difficult production problems and work with management peers across ACM and enterprise to develop long term OPACC prioritized solutions.

Provide Strategic direction: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.


• Makes sound business decisions on behalf of the group when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives.


• Validates the consistency of group initiatives with the organizational vision.


• Interprets available data and analyses when creating tactical/strategic plans.


• Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Required advanced English

• Works with R&D (research & development) staff to plan resource and capacity requirements for products under development.


• Creates consolidated forecasts for multiple product lines and production facilities.


• Advises on multiple cycles of short- and long-term capacity planning for product or site.


• Compares and contrasts alternative approaches and tools for capacity planning.


• Develops estimates and costs for incremental capacity requirements.


• Translates demand forecasts into production and capacity requirements.

Lean Manufacturing:


• Defines and executes a strategic lean implementation plan.


• Mentors others on the organizational and cultural transformation needed for effective lean implementation.


• Leads discussions on the history and evolution of lean manufacturing; cites successes and failures.


• Establishes and monitors benchmarks for measuring effectiveness of lean.


• Oversees the implementation of mechanisms for sustaining a culture for lean.
