Role Summary: The Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering will oversee and motivate our Electrical Engineering division to create systems and products that surpass our clients' expectations. This position emphasizes leadership and technical guidance for Sonatech's Electrical Engineering team. A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal abilities will be essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and nurture the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers and Project Engineers to convert program specifications into engineering assignments.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to formulate comprehensive plans for new designs and products.
  • Devise technical strategies to fulfill Engineering objectives.
  • Oversee manpower planning for the Electrical Engineering team across various projects.
  • Manage the tools and infrastructure necessary for Electrical Engineers.
  • Articulate Engineering team objectives to staff members.
  • Identify training requirements for the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Establish and track performance metrics, providing annual evaluations.
  • Assess your team's work for technical precision and quality.
  • Deliver regular updates on Engineering progress to Project Managers through meetings, briefings, and technical reports.
  • Contribute technical insights for proposals and business development initiatives.
  • Recruit and onboard new Electrical Engineering personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of experience in circuit assembly design.
  • Minimum of 5 years in engineering management roles.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing risks related to product design, development, scheduling, manufacturing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational skills for monitoring requirements, technical advancements, staffing, and timelines.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for managing staff, conveying instructions and expectations, and collaborating with other management personnel.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance; active or prior Security Clearance is preferred.

Compensation: Salary range: $170,000 - $210,000

Benefits: Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, a 3% 401K contribution (no matching required), and company-sponsored events.
