Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Programs

The University of Miami (UM) School of Nursing and Health Studies is seeking an Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Programs. The ideal candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical.

UM is a prestigious research university and academic medical center and a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU). The university's mission is to have a positive impact on the lives of students, patients, the community, and beyond.

The School of Nursing and Health Studies is dedicated to transforming lives and healthcare through education, research, and innovation. The Associate Dean will lead the development and growth of graduate programs, reporting to the Dean.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership for academic matters related to the Graduate Clinical Programs
  • Promote academic excellence and interdisciplinary initiatives
  • Oversee assessment processes and program quality
  • Lead accreditation processes
  • Collaborate with faculty and develop teaching plans
  • Engage in scholarship and research activities
  • Participate in community service activities
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Adhere to academic governance principles
  • Engage with external constituencies
  • Stay informed about developments in the healthcare field
  • Represent the School at professional meetings
  • Assist in fundraising activities
Qualifications:
  • PhD or equivalent in Nursing or related field
  • Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • 3-5 years of clinical practice experience
  • Experience in academic and clinical leadership
  • Teaching experience in graduate nursing education
