Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) has relationships with millions of merchant businesses, in more than 25 countries, and delivers over $1.5T in spend. The people, processes, and technology that support this vital function are evolving to improve the merchant experience and economics. Within GMNS, The Global Policy and Standards (GPS) team develops policy (rules), specifications, and data quality programs to govern American Express products and capabilities, to protect the brand, and to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across Network Partners, Merchants, and Third-Party Providers.

This Analyst for Network Policy & Procedures role, reporting to the Sr. Manager of the same, is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to drive a vision that continues to evolve American Express Global Policy. This role will support a key initiative that will completely overhaul the process by which GMNS Policy is produced, delivered, and consumed to our thousands of global internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Coordinate and manage initiatives both independently and/or by owning a workstream on a larger program – all of which may include product enhancements, regulatory changes, or transformational initiatives (Project Harmony).Support the Project Harmony program which will create a single, modularized, point of arrival for Amex policies, operating regulations, and guides. This will serve the needs of Network Participants, Merchants, Third Parties, their Service Providers, as well as internal stakeholders through evolving all GMNS Policy into a cohesive and easy to access application/process and uplifting to a new Content Management System (CMS).Work closely with Policy teams to understand POD, mapping processes and existing platforms, and identify local market needs that feed into the POA vision for GMNS Policy.Analyze and understand underlying issues arising from investigations and consulting. Drive a cross-functional group of GPS thought leaders to review, update and change policy documentation methodology to enable a cohesive integration with Project Harmony.Work with the Core Harmony team to provide program oversight / governance and reporting for key stakeholders as well as executive dashboards.Update and revise project documentation within designated timeframes.Be highly flexible and adapt to internal priorities and changing landscapes.Collaborate with Technologies and Business teams to implement and operationalize new products and capabilitiesProvide key inputs and drive continual process improvement in development of documentation and status reports.Support team with other strategic policy initiatives and programs as required.Perform a variety of tasks with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.Minimum Qualifications: Previous Project Management experience.Ability to work autonomously and adjust quickly to shifting priorities, rapid change, and multiple demands.Strong communication and presentation skills allowing for clear and appropriate messaging for multiple levels/audiences.Expertise in documentation management including process flows w/ previous Confluence experience.Strong relationship skills to work cross-organizationally. Strong organizational skills and proven expertise in prioritization and time management.Flexibility and willing to play multiple roles within a team - being able to wear different hats when needed.Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels within the organization regardless of band level or role.Demonstrated analytical skills and strong attention to detail.Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.Preferred Qualifications:Project Management experience with large-scale projects that require coordination across multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and teams.Familiarity with the governance, usage, content, standards, publication cycles, and audience of GMNS Policy.Broad payments industry experience, including credit processing, payment card acquiring operations, issuer operations, and chargeback/disputes; global experience a plus. Working knowledge of Content Management Systems.Previous experience using Confluence as a document repository (ability to use macros and design skills are a plus).Bachelor's degree preferred. Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
