The Critical Care Unit at
MedStar Franklin Square Hospital is looking for a full-time Unit Secretary.
This position is Night Shift with rotating weekend and includes
(3) 12-hour shifts per week. The
hours are 6:30PM – 7:00AM.This position provides clerical and secretarial support
on a patient-centered care unit. This includes facilitating internal and
external communication, greeting all individuals who enter the unit, and
helping to expedite the processes of patient care.

Primary Duties
Acts as a receptionist for visitors and their family members as well as healthcare personnel arriving to the unit.
Creates and maintains patient and unit records.
Serves as a central contact for telephone calls and distribution point for paperwork, lab and test results.
Transcribes orders and notifies appropriate healthcare personnel in a timely manner.
Maintains maintenance of equipment in the unit.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, required.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, required.
