Our work depends on a Technical Writer joining our team to support Federal Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program activities.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Technical Writer supporting the EHRM program, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing project deliverables such as technical documents, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specifically in the areas of 508 compliancy.

HOW A TECHNICAL WRITER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Working on all phases of documentation; assisting in the preparation of documents and supports the development of contract deliverables and reports.
  • Review and edit deliverable content for Section 508 accessibility compliance.
  • Stay up to date on Section 508 standards and best practices.
  • Editing functional descriptions, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables or document, conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology.
  • Reviews and edits project deliverables such as technical documents, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Preparing and maintainingoperations documentation, user guides, manuals and technical publications.
  • Preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree + 8 years' experience.
  • 8+ years in a related technical or clinical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • 5 + years of experience of 508 technical writing.
  • Experience editing material for punctuation, grammar, and content.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Knowledge of Federal documentation standards , processes, and 508 compliancy.

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance, which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years.
