The Core Lab Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day testing operations for the Core Lab and Flow Cytometry laboratory at Saint Thomas Midtown. Responsibilities include implementing and managing policies, procedures, and practices to optimize the clinical diagnostics laboratory's performance. This position will have oversight of Chemistry, Hematology, limited Microbiology, and Flow Cytometry.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7 am - 4 pm) (While this is a 1st shift position, the supervisor's schedule may vary to meet business needs)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Core Lab & Flow Cytometry department operations
  • Ensure accurate and timely laboratory tests results reporting
  • Directly train and mentor laboratory personnel
  • Monitor daily workflow, ensuring proper staff coverage
  • Research and resolve production errors
  • Drive continuous process and service improvements
  • Maintain equipment through Quality Control
  • Prepare Quality Assurance records
  • Evaluate process improvements
  • Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports
  • Perform bench work as needed
  • Ensure compliance with regulations
  • Administer policies and procedures
  • Manage payroll and personnel files
  • Perform administrative duties

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
  • Minimum 6 years of Technologist experience
  • Supervisor experience preferred
  • Active TN Supervisor's license required
  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications required
  • Knowledge of CLIA, CAP and state regulations
  • Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment
  • Physically able to perform job requirements
