Responsibilities

About the Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy the Nurse Clinician/Educator works collaboratively with nurse managers to assess plan implement evaluate document and coordinate clinical educational opportunities for appropriate nursing staff to promote advanced skill levels. The Nurse Clinician/Educator observes staff within the unit for competency demonstration provides assessment of that competency identifies educational needs for staff and provides hands-on training within the assigned department. Provides clinical leadership and mentoring within the department. The position coordinates new grad and other orientation programs within the clinical service area to insure and elevate competency of RN LVN and other staff within the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years clinical experience.
  • Education/in-service experience required.
  • Registered Nurse: Unencumbered CA RN licnese.
  • BLS provider certification required.
  • ACLS provider certification required.
  • NRP provider certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years clinical experience in critical and intermediate care.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS instructor certification preferred.
  • PALS provider and instructor certification preferred.
  • BCLS and NRP instructor certification preferred. NCL certification preferred.

Experience in effectively mentoring nurses preferred. Ability to effectively teach and mentor nursing staff. Demonstrates knowledge of adult teaching principles and their application. Ability to work with a team to plan develop and implement programs to increase knowledge and skill. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Possesses initiative and the ability to work independently. Ability to effectively assess and prioritize educational and clinical skill needs. Demonstrates the ability to provide a high standard of nursing care. Ability to promote standards of professional nursing practice by using them as a framework for teaching serves as a role model for staff. Demonstrates performance of nursing care requiring advanced clinical skill and knowledge. Ability to provide leadership in promoting evidence-based practice.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$ $68.77 /hour
