Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Informaticist will provide expertise in the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new or existing functionality related to clinical and business information systems. This role will work under the direction of the Regional Director of Clinical Informatics to integrate nursing/clinical science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise in the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new or existing functionality related to clinical and business information systems.
• Work under the direction of the Regional Director of Clinical Informatics to integrate nursing/clinical science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice.
• Serve as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to processes, policies, and information systems.
• Ensure data/information is current with regulatory agency and best practice standards.
• Coordinate the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization associated with the clinical information systems.
• Serve as an internal consultant to all departments to identify and achieve department and project goals.
• Provide direct contact with vendors to ensure customer needs are met.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing clinical experience required.
• 1+ Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) implementation experience required (super user trainer or implementation project team member).
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in CA, in good standing.
• Knowledge of contemporary EHR application suites preferably Cerner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five years clinical informatics experience preferred.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Informatics certification preferred.
• Expertise in statistical analysis, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• Training in E.H.R. system design and/or build experience preferred.
