JOB SUMMARY:
Use your Accounts Payable experience to take on an exciting role working with Factory Motor Parts. This position requires strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and communication skills. You will process full cycle Accounts Payable, including entering invoices, matching invoices/packing slips/purchase orders, reconciling statements, and resolving issues both internally and externally.
The Accounts Payable Specialist position will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will have content expertise in the following areas and will be responsible for the following reporting and communication requirements as deemed appropriate by the Accounts Payable Supervisor:
- Review and match invoices against receiving documents and purchase orders
- Submit shortage claims, damage claims, and request missing credits from vendors
- Work with locations and vendors to reconcile vendor returns
- Appropriately code and distribute vendor credits
- Capture invoice discounts
- Reconcile vendor monthly statements
- Meet scheduled monthly deadlines
- Work directly with the purchasing department, warehouse managers, and vendors
- Provide support for supervisor as necessary
- Perform all other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- 2-3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- 2 year Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Effectively communicate both internally and externally
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 years of Accounts Payable experience
2 year Degree in Accounting or Finance
