Meta is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering (Infrastructure) team. The Software Engineering (Infrastructure) team builds large distributed components that run Facebook. Our code serves millions of requests per second and it does so with sub-second latency and in a fault-tolerant manner. We handle everything from Facebook scale data storage, to synchronization and coordination of large server clusters, to providing a runtime environment for front end Facebook code. We are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complexity and building platforms that can scale through multiple orders of magnitude.

Software engineer (Leadership) - Infrastructure Responsibilities:

Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detailDrive the team's goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that make your larger organization more efficientUnderstand industry & company-wide trends to help assess & develop new technologiesPartner & collaborate with organization leaders to help improve the level of performance of the team & organizationIdentify new opportunities for the larger organization & influence the appropriate people for staffing/prioritizing these new ideasLead long term technical vision and roadmap for large cross-company effortsSuggest, collect and synthesize requirements and create an effective feature roadmapMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience leading projects with industry-wide impactVast experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutionsSignificant experience in mentoring/influencing senior engineers across organizationsProven track record of planning multi-year roadmap in which shorter-term projects ladder to the long term visionExperience in driving large cross-functional/industry-wide engineering efforts12+ years coding experience in C, C++, Java and/or C#12+ years experience building server applicationsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with operating system internals, filesystems, programming language design, compilersAbout Meta:
