We are looking for an Operations Engineer II to join our Monomers team in Freeport, TX.

As an Operations Engineer II, member of the Ammonia Plant and Terminal operations team, you will join our world class manufacturing unit, with your role focused on daily operations including optimization, root cause failure analysis, and compliance.

As a Operations Engineer II, you create chemistry by...
  • Providing technical and leadership support to meet production targets; to the Technology Group to implement plant trials; in root cause failure analysis for operational upsets; and to improve the plant unit ratios. You will also provide troubleshooting assistance to the Daily Production Execution team, and generate and complete MOCs.
  • Serving as Manufacturing Representative as assigned for capital projects, and as Unit Contact for all data required for completion of production and service level agreements.
  • Monitoring and providing guidance for the achievement of plant goals, objectives, and operational budgets, as well as being involved in the planning and execution of plant turnarounds. You will also identify lean opportunities and support the development and implementation of processes (both equipment based and administrative) to achieve business targets.
  • Developing and providing support for operational and environmental training of production personnel.
  • Reviewing daily production and environmental compliance records to meet periodic reporting requirements.
  • Providing unit-specific coordination, preparation, and maintenance of compliance activities between internal and external audits.

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other technical field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working for an owner/operator in a chemical, petrochemical or refining manufacturing facility
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong organizational skills
