Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a highly experienced System Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado to lead the Mission Management System - Mission Planning team and guide the development of mission critical software and system solutions.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop, and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Lead others to evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
  • Lead analyses to optimize total system of systems and system architecture.
  • Lead analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Lead, develop, maintain, and identify improvements the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Experience leading a team using Agile methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing mission systems engineering activities.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Familiarity with Common Network Planning Software (CNPS).
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience leading requirements and engineering teams.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining XML and JSON schemas ensuring data integrity and seamless integration across diverse systems and platforms.
  • Understanding of Wideband Communications and Planning such as Wideband Enterprise Satellite Systems (WESS).
  • Ability to take ICDs and requirements and turn them into design cases and use cases.
  • Schema creation experience.
  • Multi-frequency time-division multiple access (MF-TDMA) waveform knowledge.
  • Experience in metadata schemas: JSON, HTML, or XML.
Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: 147, ,950.
