Department Overview


The mission of the Medical Education Department of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is to improve the health of children by providing high quality pediatric education programs to medical students, to physicians in training and in clinical practice, and other health professionals.


Position Summary
The GME Coordinator performs graduate education planning, implementation and coordination for all activities involving medical students, residents, and fellows. This includes overseeing all compliance documentation, coordinating call schedules for inpatient pediatrics, and scheduling all graduate education conferences. The role is also responsible for orientation, administration, and evaluation of all trainees on the inpatient pediatric service.

This position requires working closely with the director of medical education, the director of medical students, and the director of graduate medical education, as well as the program coordinators from all of the affiliated training programs.


Additionally, the GME Coordinator organizes and coordinates office operations and Graduate Medical Education rotations; offers high quality front-end support services, and organized, efficient management of administrative duties; and oversees the efficient running of the office, including execution of office procedures and trainee-related tasks.

This position supports the Director and Associate Directors of Medical Education.

  • Baccalaureate Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' secretarial and administrative experience and computer proficiency.
  • Experience in a medical setting desirable; experience with Graduate Medical Education highly desirable but not required.
  • Working knowledge of graphics and spreadsheets.
  • Advanced Word and Excel experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Education (residency programs, medical school, etc.)

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade.

We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs.

Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.


All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S.
