As a Senior Accountant on the Financial Reporting team, you'll have the opportunity to drive the continual development of a topnotch accounting team. The team is primarily responsible for account reconciliations, financial reporting, financial analysis, process improvement, and technical accounting research.

An ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, supported by excellent attention to detail. The willingness to research, design and test novel solutions coupled with the ability to self-learn and leverage experience from failures will be highly favored.

This role is a leader, well-developed in communicating status to department management and coordinating tasks/projects that include members from multiple teams.

This position will require an in office presence 2-3 times a week, and more often during certain months of the year.

As a Senior Accountant, you will have direct responsibility for:

  • Driving continuous improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives in support of corporate strategies
  • Guiding a team of accountants, resulting in timely submissions with a high degree of accuracy
  • Anticipating operational issues and developing suggestions for preventative measures
  • Assisting with the monthly accounting close process
  • Interpreting new accounting pronouncements
  • Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 2+ years accounting experience (preferably preparing financial statements for a large corporation)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applying business process improvement methodologies for analysis data collection, generation of solutions and reporting
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, VBA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public accounting and experience researching accounting pronouncements. Background in investment accounting
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft or Workday Financials general ledger applications
  • StatementPro or Wings Annual Statement reporting software experience
