Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
We are looking for a motivated and autonomous builder to deliver results to our customers.This is a hands-on position where your daily activities will range from strategic planning to new system development to supporting the customers that depend on our services.
Deliver consistent, well-defined results in an agile systems development workflow. To succeed in this role, you will deliver reliable, scalable, controlled working environments built on AWS.In this role, you will build tools and services with infrastructure-as-code, enable self-healing, site reliability, and scaling. Use AWS products and DevOps patterns to build the next generation of remote systems management tools.
Key job responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge of development and service delivery best practices to lead design and development efforts for a team with a security, scalability, and performance mindset
- Instill a culture that drives DevOps, hold a high quality bar with code reviews, drive automation efforts to empower, and remove barriers for our team
- Translation of complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
- Handson leadership; working with others on the engineering team to guide the daytoday development activities, leading architecture decisions, participating in designs, design reviews, and implementation
- Build services that can scale with rapid deployment for additional controlled environments with containers and pipelines
- Deliver quality features ontime and onbudget and execution against project plans and delivery commitments

The Kuiper Enterprise Technology organization is looking for an experienced Systems Development Engineer with infrastructure and development background. As a Systems Development Engineer will be expected to influence the business and technology direction of the team.

As Systems Development Engineer on the team, you will be counted on to define and apply the standards for engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices for your team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and handson systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience automating and configuring systems using the Desired State Configuration (DSC) in a large enterprise environment
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market.
