Typical Duties
Performs cleaning duties as assigned or directed.When assigned to others, works under their direct supervision unless qualified to perform assigned duties alone.Handles, moves, and positions materials, tools, supplies, and equipment as necessary.Maintains proper sequence of operation for all equipment.Understand and maintain compliance of all environmental limits within you area and take corrective action to ensure the plant remains compliant.Assists or performs outside duties such as removing snow, spreading sand, ash, and salt on roadways, walkways, and grounds, cutting weeds, mows lawns with riding or walking mowers, applies weed killer, and other duties.Operates vehicles such as pickup, and skid-steer loader.Removes debris from all areas and transports garbage to designated disposal area.Handles waste oil barrels and disposes of contents as directed.Instructs and trains employees new to this classification.Exercises proper care of material, equipment, tools, and supplies.Assembles threaded hose ends for condenser scrapper guns, and various pumping operations.Minor repair to condenser cleaning guns, steam cleaners, etc.Opens clean-outs to unplug floor drains.Minor repair of vacuum truck and pump hoses.Helps assemble and set-up scaffolding.Opens pass-hopper access doors for cleaning.Performs general cleaning tasks as directed.Attends scheduled classroom lectures covering basic and practical power plant principles and plant specific instruction.Trains on the job for the utility operator position as directed.Participates on the fire brigade, once trained, and performs the duties as outlined in the fire and rescue team response procedures.­Performs duties as assigned on the spill response team.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements

Must have high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a recognized course in power/process plant or industrial technology or equivalent work experience. Must be able to communicate (written and orally) clearly and must maintain a valid driver's license.
