Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiovascular Invasive Registered Nurse will provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients and will:

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the adult patient receiving invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures
  • Promote and maintain a safe and therapeutic cardiovascular invasive lab environment.
  • Provide high quality care -pre, post, and during procedures
  • Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual cardiovascular invasive lab patients.
  • Hemodynamic and EKG monitoring including interpretation of information obtained
  • Administration of Sedation Analgesia and monitoring patients response
  • Management of high-risk intravenous therapies.
  • Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care.
  • Basic knowledge of purpose CVI supplies while assisting in Inventory control and ordering
  • Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses, and / or nurse externs.
  • Maintain high quality [age specific] care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • 3-years critical care experience preferred. Invasive cardiology experience preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree. BSN required within 2 years
