Job Summary:

The Nurse (RN) position in the STD Clinic is responsible for assisting physicians and nurse practitioners/physician assistants in the testing and treatment of STDs for men and women. This includes performing lab work, sending samples to the courier, and providing administrative support by answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and triaging emergencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners/physician assistants in the testing and treatment of STDs
  • Perform lab work and send samples to the courier
  • Provide administrative support by answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and triaging emergencies
  • Interact with patients by obtaining weight, height, pulse, blood pressure, and medical history
  • Perform related duties as assigned in Health Care Services
Requirements:
  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas
  • At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current CPR certification (or obtain within 60 days of employment)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
