Optum is looking for a per diem Dermatologist to join our team in Pasadena. The clinicians we seek are those who practice medicine with a focus on patient care, not volume.

Just a 20 minute drive to downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena and its surrounding areas have much to offer in terms of education, recreational activities, and culinary diversity, without the typical hustle & bustle of a large metropolitan city. Choose to live in Arcadia, for example, and you'll find yourself both at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains and inside the perimeter of a nationally renowned school district Alternatively, just live where you work and take advantage of weeknight strolls through beautiful Colorado Boulevard or weekend drives to The Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens right next door, in San Marino.

Position Details

  • Flexible: PER DIEM schedule
  • The team: 1 other dermatologist, two NP/PA, a skin aesthetician, and a plastic surgeon
  • Full Scope Dermatology: 95% medical, 5% cosmetic
  • Patient mix: 50% adult, 50% senior patients
  • Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Average of 20-25 patients and two office procedures per day
  • Blocked time in procedure rooms, well equipped for all office based procedures
  • Must be comfortable with Accutane/acne medication
  • Three exam rooms per provider as well as a dedicated MA and office space
  • Additional specialties at this location: Plastic Surgery, Aesthetician
  • Mohs surgeon one day per month
  • Occasional hospital consults may be required

Requirements

  • Unrestricted CA State Medical License
  • Current CA DEA certificate required prior to start date
  • BC/BE in Dermatology
  • UnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination status
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.
