Applies various research methods and analytical tools to study Office of Justice Personnels (OJP's) operational efficiency and effectiveness and strategic issues to help inform budget strategy, operations and policies related to budget formulation and appropriations.

Creates budget formulation-related goals and objectives, the structure of key operational events and milestones and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning and management processes.

Designs and executes studies, analyses and reviews of a wide variety of programs, services, activities, offices, problems and issues of a managerial, administrative or budgetary nature.

Designs, conducts, and administers interviews, focus groups, surveys, data collections and other assessment, information or data gathering tools in order to identify problems, trends and inconsistencies.

Plans how to gather information, inputs, data, opinions, and views as appropriate for the project, study or evaluation.
Writes extensive, detailed reports consisting of complex data analyses, explanations of processes, conclusions and recommendations. The audience for reports includes internal office readers and OJP senior leadership. Shares findings and recommendations with the Department of Justice (DOJ), congressional and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) staff.
Analyzes and evaluates new and existing programs and issues of a technical nature.

Reviews and interprets new and established directives, instructions, and regulations to determine their impact on complex or new programs.

Ensures that program goals, objectives and operations are realistic and in line with Department-wide and OJP-specific goals and objectives.

Through research and collaboration across program offices, identifies appropriate analytical approaches to evaluation and analysis.

Uses and performs a wide variety of analysis and evaluation functions, including but not limited to: cost-benefit analysis, return on investment analysis, cause and effect analysis, data visualization enabled analysis, user impression analysis, survey analysis and performance analysis.

Cleans, sorts and analyzes large data sets of both qualitative and quantitative type in order to form recommendations for process improvement.
