Assistant Banquet Manager- Shangri-La Resort

The Assistant Banquet Manager will be responsible for managing banquet events at the hotel and across the resort. Must be able to understand a banquet event order sheet and complete it at the highest level. Events ranging from 10 person meetings to 300+ people. Will supervise over meetings, dinners, charity events, weddings, etc. This person supervises event room set-ups, room flips, service, and maintenance of all banquet functions and banquet equipment. This role is a highly detailed role within the hotel and resort to complete event requirement and create an appealing experience for guests.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Ensure that all Food and Beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to the standards set out by the Resort and noting any special requests and instructions conveyed on the Banquet Event Order for the event.
Ensure that communication is constantly maintained between the Chef and event contacts during the event.
Assists manager with hiring, motivating, evaluating, and directing staff to ensure guidance and resources to accomplish established goals and objectives. Ensures that all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback, and resources necessary.
Oversee servers, houseman, and bartenders to make sure the Shangri-La standard is being met.
Responsible for pre-set up of banquet area prior to function. Including tables are set up properly, signage is in the correct location, and bars are set up correctly.
Have a team first attitude. Contribute to the team effort of the overall resort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the hotel and safety of guests and employees; accepting diverse assignments; maintaining a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements: Must be very organized and detail oriented.
Must have a team first mindset.
Must have a high level of communication skills.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), college degree preferred.
Oklahoma liquor license preferred.
