Summary

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap



Duties
  • Enforces swimming pool regulations, safety rules are followed and account all participants at all times.
  • Assist swimmers having difficulty, rescues those in trouble and renders first aid until such time a qualified doctor or other emergency personnel are present.
  • Performs rescue work, promptly renders CPR or emergency first aid, and calls for medical assistance as necessary.
  • Supervises swimmers for safety and crowd control.
  • Enforces safety and pool regulations.
  • Promptly reports safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds at the pool area. Responsible for testing the pool chemical levels.
  • Responsible for daily interactions with customers.
  • Provides instruction to youth and adults in incremental swim lessons/lifeguarding/CPR courses.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks for proper standards of cleanliness, free from hazards, sanitation and appearance of pool and related facilities.
  • Assists in pool chemistry maintenance with good knowledge of all aspects of water safety rules and procedures.
  • Provide customer assistance and supplies information regarding the facility and its programs.
  • May assist with scheduled pool parties, after hours of operation or with base wide special events.
  • Schedule includes evenings and weekends.
