Job Summary
The Division of Creative Writing in the Department of English in the College of Arts Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Professor level in
Creative Writing:
Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025. The preferred candidate will have a successful national publishing record, including novels, essays, and creative nonfiction.
We are particularly interested in candidates with demonstrated expertise in the fields of rural literature, editing, book-to-film adaptations, the rural-urban divide, and Midwestern literature.
In addition, we seek an experienced instructor with evidence of excellent teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The preferred candidate will have experience in undergraduate program development and administration, course development, and community engagement. The teaching assignment includes two courses per semester and includes both undergraduate and graduate courses. The successful candidate will mentor undergraduate and MFA students and contribute service to the Creative Writing Division. A MFA in Creative Writing is required for this position.Applicants must include the following: 1) cover letter 2) CV, and 3) unofficial transcript.
