IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Perform all duties to maintain accurate quality and production output from manufacturing cells.
  • Assist the Supervisor in overall department efficiency, employee performance and other concerns or issues.
  • Direct the activities of assigned work groups in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Responsible for setup, troubleshooting, operating, maintaining and training on machines and equipment within the Turned Parts Department with little or no assistance.
  • Responsible for reassigning operators, advising setup personnel, and prioritizing work based on effective communication with department supervisors.
  • Must maintain proper communication and ensure awareness exists among all shifts in fabrication.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and maximum efficiency from all cells that are operational during the shift.
  • Duties include assisting and training cell operators and operating machines in absence of operators.
  • Assure all production reporting of operational cells is correct.
  • Assure that all preventative maintenance tasks are performed as scheduled.
  • Report any unusual equipment or operational problems.
  • Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

WHO YOU ARE:

You will relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography. You will separate and combine work activities into efficient work flow.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year of lead experience and must be a Machinist III.
  • Must have expert knowledge to setup at least 3 of the current fabrication machines and a solid understanding of all machines; (Acme Screw Machine, Brown and Sharpe Screw Machine, Conventional Mills, and Drill Machines, Davenport Screw Machine, CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Hydromats and Multi Axis Turning Center)
  • 1+ years as a LGE setup or equivalent experience and the ability to perform setup on a minimum of three (3) types of equipment listed
  • Advanced knowledge in blueprint reading
  • 2+ years of experience in metrology
  • Ability to operate Statistical Process Control equipment as well as other gages to assure process is under control at all times.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production problems and take corrective action as vital.
  • Take initiative and make quality decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal direction.
  • Must possess outstanding leadership and communication skills and have the ability to empower others.
  • Act as a leader with utmost integrity, professionalism and positive demeanor.
  • Must be a great teammate and lead by example

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology from an accredited technical college is preferred.
