Job Description:

The R&D Temporary Scientist is responsible for performing laboratory experiments; pilot scale experiments; collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and compiling data and results under the supervision of the R&D group leader and scientists. The R&D Temporary Scientist may be required to assist the fabrication, modification, and maintenance of experimental apparatus. The R&D Temporary Scientist is expected to assist in the preparation, set–up, and execution of production scale membrane casting runs and characterization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must have an AA or higher completed degree/diploma in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Biology or a related field or 2–3 years of laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Able to work at least 30 hours per week, but may work 40+ hours per week
  • Critical thinking and good problem–solving skills.
  • Detail oriented, diligent, careful in observation and work.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The desire and ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary, fast–paced team environment. Being adaptable and open to change.
  • Effective time management skills and able to manage multiple tasks, while maintaining proper attention to detail.
  • Strictly adhering to safety policies and guidelines.
