Project Overview:

Bechtel's focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team is performing the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for a multiple utility-scale solar photovoltaic ("PV") generating plants across the US.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and manage project cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. You will identify cost trends for management attention, support project organizational and administrative activities, and ensure work is completed as scheduled. Your data analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges, and your leadership will be essential to project success. #LI-NP1

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership"

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads the cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for an area within a project which requires a moderate degree of technical skilled experience
  • Identifies cost trends for management attention
  • Analyzes data to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
  • Ensures work is completed as scheduled
  • Supports project organizational and administrative activities
  • Prepares cost data for proposals or contracts
  • Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
  • Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
  • Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
  • Collects and classifies cost data

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
  • PowerBI experience.
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, cost analysis and financial reporting.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Experience in other areas of project controls (planning, scheduling, estimating, etc.) desirable.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
  • Previous solar industry experience preferred.
