Amentum is seeking a Predictive Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in Winston Salem, NC

  • Typical work schedule is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM - hours may vary based on business demand.

The Predictive Maintenance Technician will be responsible for following planned routes through the plant collecting and preparing oil samples for analysis and taking various Infrared, Airbourne Ultrasound, Mechanical Ultrasound, Electrical Ultrasound, and other measurements using the provided equipment and following prescribed procedures. The technician will also be responsible for recording and maintaining the data from the measurements. The technician will perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Reliability Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows planned and scheduled routes to collect oil samples for analysis. Properly identifies and documents each sample and gets the sample and documentation prepared to be sent for analysis.
  • Records and Files Oil Analysis Reports and delivers a copy to the Reliability Manager for evaluation.
  • Follows planned and scheduled routes to perform Infrared Inspections using the provided equipment. Properly documents the data collected and prepares it to be sent to Amentum Corporate for evaluation and analysis reporting.
  • Reviews data with the Reliability Manager and issues Work Orders to have components repaired or replaced as agreed upon.
  • Maintains test tracking data for component life timeline analysis.
  • Follows planned and scheduled routes to perform Airbourne Ultrasound Inspections using the provided equipment. Properly documents the data collected and prepares it to be sent to Amentum Corporate for evaluation and analysis reporting.
  • Reviews data with the Reliability Manager and issues Work Orders to have components repaired or replaced as agreed upon.
  • Follows planned and scheduled routes to perform Mechanical Ultrasound Inspections using the provided equipment. Properly documents the data collected and prepares it to be sent to Amentum Corporate for evaluation and analysis reporting.
  • Reviews data with the Reliability Manager and issues Work Orders to have components repaired or replaced as agreed upon.
  • Maintains test tracking data for component life timeline analysis.
  • Performs Electrical Ultrasound Inspections as directed using the provided equipment. Properly documents the data collected and prepares it to be sent to Amentum Corporate for evaluation and analysis reporting.
  • Reviews data with the Reliability Manager and issues Work Orders to have components repaired or replaced as agreed upon.
  • Fills out associated work orders in a timely manner while properly documenting work done.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Operates a PC with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Other duties as directed by the Reliability Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED (or Graduating Spring of 2024)
  • Must be available to work off shift as needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • This position may require occasional (less than 10%) travel for training.
  • Be at least 18 years or older.

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position may require a valid Driver's License.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.
  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the ability and flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, move in a 90-degree fashion, stretch/reach repetitively throughout shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate sounds.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic repair theory.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory,
  • Mechanical skills, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility related equipment such as lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes.
  • Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc.
