Job Summary

The Company is currently seeking a Controller to join its Accounting & Finance team. Lead by the Controller, the Team provides a wide variety of financial reporting, operational accounting, procurement, and travel services to the organization. In addition to standard accounting and reporting activity, this role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to participate in the development of optimum solutions for business challenges in a collaborative environment as well as having a critical role in setting strategic direction for the company.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Lead and develop a high performing team in support of current & future talent needs within the accounting function
  • Development and maintenance of GAAP and Statutory based accounting polices and procedures
  • Development and maintenance of the internal control environment, ensuring on-going compliance with key internal control procedures
  • Production of complete, accurate, and timely GAAP and Statutory based financial statements, including consolidations and financial based regulatory compliance reporting
  • Provide various financial analysis as needed in support of current or planned business objectives and strategies
Qualifications

Qualifications the Successful Candidate is Expected to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or business with 10 years of directly related experience
  • Experience must include significant participation in leadership roles within a property & casualty insurer
  • Working knowledge of reinsurance contracts and their accounting implications
  • Working knowledge of Federal income taxation of property & casualty insurers
  • Advanced knowledge of technology used by insurer businesses and/or financial systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards
