The Opportunity

As the Principal Consultant, Digital Grid, you will provide consulting services and offer expertise in Grid Operations Transformation, focusing on Operational Technologies (OT) and supporting Information Technology (IT) systems for Advanced Distribution Infrastructure. This includes Electric Distribution SCADA, Outage Management System (OMS), Distribution Management System (DMS), Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS), and more. This role has a 70% delivery performance goal and a 30% business development performance goal.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Responsibilities:

  1. Manage client engagement for complex, transformational programs.
  2. Lead a medium to large project team.
  3. Provide technical and industry knowledge to contribute to or lead multiple engagements.
  4. Lead business process and technical requirement workshops with clients.
  5. Perform business readiness and change management assessments.
  6. Demonstrate consulting capabilities with minimal oversight.
  7. Contribute to the Digital Grid practice (best practices, team development).

Business Development Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the business development process as a subject matter expert (SME).
  2. Support account managers to understand clients' business needs and develop presentations, proposals, and Statement of Work (SOW).
  3. Promote thought leadership in OT and Smart Grid technologies.
  4. Contribute to the development of new service offerings.

Matrix Management Responsibilities:

  1. Transfer knowledge and skills to improve others' knowledge.
  2. Provide ongoing feedback to project professionals and supervisors.
  3. Contribute to the career development of others.
  4. Delegate work duties according to development opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. 10 years of experience in the Energy and Utilities industry, including 5 years in Smart Grid and/or Operational Technologies.
  3. Direct experience in software/solution implementation and/or business integration of OT-IT systems.
  4. Strong Project Management and Consulting skills.
  5. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
  6. Professional Project Manager, PMI-PMP or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience.
  2. Has managed significant engagements.
  3. 10+ years in a business/consulting environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Remote or client site, travel up to 50%.
