Description:

The Manager, Central Sterile Processing is responsible for the operational management, leadership, professional development and performance improvement activities on a 24 hour basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning organizing, directing, coordinating, and budgeting to insure operational and fiscal efficiencies are maintained.
  • Creates an infrastructure, which supports the accurate and efficient maintenance of materials instruments, and equipment critical to the delivery of quality operative/procedural care.
  • Performs duties in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, regulatory, professional, and accrediting agency standards.
  • Responsible for identifying all hazardous materials in the work area and all employees with potential exposure in order to provide them with the necessary personal protective devices and appropriate training.
  • Responsible for assuring that all employees strictly adhere to all measures necessary for compliance with hospital safety policies and applicable Federal, State, and Agency safety-related requirements and regulations.
  • Monitors expenditures and meets budgeted targets. Provides variance justification to the Director, Peri-Operative Services.
  • Makes recommendation with regard to the number of resources such as space, equipment, and supplies needed by the department to support the provision of service. Participates in the selection of these resources.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental goals consistent with the mission, philosophy, and core values of Holy Cross Hospital.

What you will need

Required:

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or five years' experience in sterile processing environment.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field. Candidates possessing comparable knowledge acquired through leadership/clinical experience. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience. Minimum of three (3) years management experience in comparable area of an acute care setting is preferred
  • Current certification in CSPDT or obtained within one year of hire.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
