MUST HAVE USDA MEAT MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE

This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced plant manager in the meat manufacturing industry to work for a recession proof employer that emerged from the pandemic even stronger than before. Employees are well rewarded for their efforts with this long-time employer.

THE PLANT MANAGER will be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day plant activities , including but not limited to safety activities of the company. The manager will oversee supervisors and ensure production goals are being met. The individual will assist in developing systems to ensure quality while improving plant efficiency. The manager must also be a strong leader with a high degree of ability to train and develop people. The manager will ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed throughout all operational activities in the facility to support and continually improve the quality, growth, and profitability of the company. In addition, the manager will oversee translating business strategies to comply with health and safety protocols. The individual will provide leadership to employees and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraisal performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Familiar with startups/adding lines due to new business installation
  • Understands reporting, yield loss, uptime, labor utilization, safety,
  • Maintains food and work safety regulations as required by law and company policy.
  • Provides technical expertise to resolve production issues and creates and ensures corrective actions are implemented.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Five-plus years of quality control experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of USDA and FDA standards
  • Knowledge of quality processes related to the food-processing industry.
  • HACCP Certified (preferred)
  • SQF Certified (preferred)
  • Familiarity with HACCP, SSOP, and SOP
  • Proficiency in computer skills, analytics, equipment, and food-processing equipment
  • Bilingual (preferred)
