Shop Floor Quality Engineer - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH

*This is a 3rd shift position*

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Daily s upport for production manufacturing processes, provide assistance toward the resolution of quality issues, and support toward shop compliance.
  • Monitor / audit / report / trend shop compliance to processes and procedures toward quality, compliance or process improvement.
  • Participate in internal audits to assure compliance to customer and internal requirements.
  • Shop floor surveillance to asses compliance to internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Leadership of process improvement activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and own of quality system procedures, and work instructions.
  • Management of CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Associates Degree, Bacelors degree preferred in engineering or technical field is. 3+ years quality assurance, engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Solid math/statistical skills and knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and print reading.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and assembly preferred but not required.
  • Experience or knowledge of inspection techniques including dimensional inspection, NDE methods such as ultrasound, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection and/or radiography preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain and DOE security clearance.
