Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Appian Developer to join our Software Engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications using the Appian platform. This position requires proficiency in Appian, a strong understanding of modern software design, and the ability to lead and work collaboratively on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Design and develop high-quality business applications using the Appian platform.
  • Provide estimates pertaining to feasibility and level of effort based on business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
  • Lead the design and implementation of project solutions, providing constructive feedback and guidance to team members.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks within the software development life cycle.
  • Troubleshoot and debug Appian built applications.
  • Perform verification and validation testing with automated tools.
  • Focus on automated deployments, and integration with cloud environments.
  • Document Appian built applications based on internal technical governance guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Experience developing with the Appian platform, including experience with Appian SAIL, Process Model, Records, Reports, Rules, and Web APIs.
  • Experience with databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL with creation, modification, administration ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to help refine business requirements and ask the right questions to develop successful Appian applications.
  • Proficiency with at least one other programming / scripting language such as Java, JavaScript, or Python is preferred.
  • Experience with building web-based applications with accessibility in mind (WCAG).
  • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Excellent skills in responsive design and cross-browser implementation.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with design system tools such as Figma.
  • Knowledge and experience with deployment automation and cloud environments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Appian Certification as Senior Developer or Lead developer preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working within the Appian platform.
  • Must have progressive work experience with SAIL design system.
  • Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • International travel may be required to support ICANN related meetings as requested for lengths of 7-10 days for each trip, approximately three times per year, likely on different continents.
  • Comfort level with an international work environment that requires availability at times outside normal business hours.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise.
  • Work location is Los Angeles or Remote.
