Responsibilities:
  • Proven background in developing, researching, and vetting ideas that lead to accurate and creative stories with impact
  • Write and produce broadcast versions, long-form, investigative, and character-driven stories.
  • Understanding of editing and graphics applications such as Adobe Premier and After Effect
  • Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media and technology to enhance stories.
  • Establish sources and develop news stories.
  • Willingness to cover a wide variety of stories
  • Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions and suggest story ideas.
  • Ensure stories are a featured on digital platforms
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
  • At least 5-7 years of experience, including prior investigative work, preferred
  • Strong, concise writing
  • Clear understanding of the principles of journalism and journalism ethics
  • Advanced experience in Adobe Premiere and some experience in After Effects
  • Knowledge in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
  • Social media proficiency, including an active news gathering on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Demonstrated news judgment, writing, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills.
  • Must be flexible with schedule, reliable and dependable
