Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

This position oversees accounts receivable activities in the FEMA Finance Center, Financial Management Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The Accounts Receivable Section is responsible for the overall management and reporting of all non-Federal account receivables for FEMA to include billing, debt management, collections, and state receivables. Duties include overseeing a team responsible for:

  • Responsible for fulfilling EEO requirements by carrying out EEO policies, and assuring quality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline, and awards.
  • Overseeing a team that provides customer service to FEMA debtors through the FEMA Recoupment Helpline.
  • Establishing accounts receivable, bills, and customers within the financial system. Recording all receivable transactions including bills, receipts, adjustments, collection attempts, interactions with customers, and other activities that affect the account.
  • Evaluating accounts receivable programs, policy, processes, and systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Preparing and reviewing ad hoc reports to FEMA management, financial and other auditors, and Congress.
  • Assigning work, reviewing work, and hearing and resolving complaints.
