Job Summary

  • Provides clinical and professional services within the Department. Responsible for the evaluation, reevaluation, development, and implementation of a plan of care.

Job Specific Duties

  • Participates in interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary meetings related to patient care.
  • Maintains and documents productivity standards.
  • Records patient documentation, statistics, and charges accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures documentation reflects evidence-based practices.
  • Improves access to care for patients.
  • Conducts evaluations based on patient's medical concerns, diagnosis, and prognosis.
  • Maintains communication with patients, caregivers, and others.
  • Develops realistic treatment goals and ongoing goals.
  • Provides treatments based on findings.
  • Prepares patients/families for discharge based on therapy benefits.
  • Provides in-services and peer reviews.
  • Maintains professional licensure and excellence.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Speech/Language Pathologist State of Florida license or Provisional Florida licensure.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Level II Finger printing background and Good Moral Character Affidavit required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
  • FLASHA membership preferred.
  • Pediatric internship strongly preferred.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence by ASHA or CFY candidate.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relate constructively with patients, families, and co-workers.
  • Ability to react calmly under stressful conditions.
  • Serve as clinical instructor for students after 2 years of clinical experience.
