Job Summary
As Manager, Automation Engineering, you will oversee the daily activities of a talented team of Automation specialists. You will ensure that the team is delivering and maintaining superior automated IaC, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and related services both on-prem and in the cloud. You will also act as a single contact point for escalations, issues, and requests, and coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to align objectives, priorities, and expectations. You will be responsible for managing the performance, development, and motivation of your team members, providing regular feedback, coaching, and conducting performance reviews. You will also be involved in budgeting, reporting, and project management activities. You will develop, plan, and implement information and operations technology systems, including IT and network infrastructure, controls, and automation systems, and integration of existing and new technologies.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the automation engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and facilitate professional development for team members.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and enhance service quality.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to meet customer needs and performance targets, monitor in real-time performance, provide analysis of key performance, and ensure the customer remains satisfied with the service provided.
  • Manage multiple workloads and prioritize responsibilities to meet various timeframes and performance standards.
  • Ensure agreed service management standards are processes are adhered to.
  • Set key metrics and crucial success factors and report against them.
  • Review, consult, and adhere to business continuity plans.
  • Uphold company values, philosophy, and mindset and act with integrity in all everyday actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in managing and supporting controls, automation, and system integration
  • Experience in leading, managing, and developing teams and managing projects
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Customer-oriented and results-driven mindset
  • Experience building relationships at a senior level
  • ITIL Foundations Certified in Service Management v3 or higher
  • Desirable: ITIL Practitioner Certificate in Incident Management v3 or higher
